Phew! The Pronoun-Antecedent Test is over. Prepare for Subject-Verb Agreement Test on Monday to close our out Agreement unit.

Also, please work on your OSCAR reading at home. Many of you are behind on your pages. The last OSCAR conferences are looming: March 5th.

Furthermore, after we finish our unit on rhetoric next week with some more speeches and short excerpts from fiction, we will begin reading Lord of the Flies. Please aim to have the book in class by January 11th. We will begin reading it on January 15th.

•Explain 2 instances in which Vonnegut uses satire in the story. What is Vonnegut is trying to say about society based on your examples?
•What is implied about how much the Constitution has been changed by 2081? How is the similar or dissimilar to our US Constitution?
•Compare the situation in this story to one in the real world. Your analogy need not involve government but may concern any authority structure. What is the author trying to tell readers about human society?
•Have you ever been in a situation when you felt the same way as any of the characters in the story?
